The border lakes country is the finest smallmouth bass fishing ecosystem in the USA. Jasper Company caters to the fly fishing canoeist. There are numerous rock points and shallow shoals to wade, but this is canoe country. From classic outfitted day trips from our lodging facilities to remote completely outfitted camping trips, the smallmouth bass fishing is fantastic. Jasper Company guides and clients land some beautiful pike and our walleye shorelunches are famous. Don Beans has served over 1,400 shorelunches in his 30 plus years of guiding.

A Stay Inn Ely has 5 units each with a private fully equipped bathroom. The smallest room, (Crimson Room) features one queen bed, the largest (Amber) has a queen, a single and a set of bunk beds. The Ivory and Evergreen rooms each have a king bed and a fold out love seat that make a comfortable single bed. The Indigo Room has a queen bed and a day bed. There is a shared fully equipped kitchen available, a dining room and a gathering room. Guide, Don Beans has remodeled this old turn of the century home with many different species of locally harvested trees. The two homes on Jasper Lake, the 'Guest House' and the 'Bay House', new in 2015 have been handcrafted by Don from pine logs harvested nearby.
