Welcome to the Reykjavik Angling Club.
The club was formed in 1939 by Icelanders in Reykjavik that wanted to conserve the salmon fishing in the Elliðaár river system, a unique river that runs through the capitol of Reykjavik, and still boasts great numbers every year. Reykjavik Angling Club or SVFR, has some 3.000+ members in Iceland but also sells fishing licenses on the international market. The club has leases to some of the best rivers in Iceland, including the famous trout beats up north, Laxárdalur and Mývatnssveit, and some of the best salmon rivers in Iceland, including Langá and Hítará. Our trout beats up in the far north are known for it's impressive landscape and some of the best wild brown trout fishing in the world.
