Type of Water: Freshwater
Species: Brown trout, Grayling
One of the highlights with my guests was fly fishing on the beautiful river Unica. All day fishing has resulted that we caught countless of big graylings and brownies. And in the evening, we have lived to see unforgettable rise of mayflies, caddiesflies, stoneflies and many other insects ... Not bad at all! :D

This is a river of stunning attractiveness. Its meandering from one bend to another, over the green grass field, until she does not surrender half of her water to underground at first swallow-hole.The spring rain fill the Unica River's deep river bed, so that it overruns the banks and overtakes the whole Planinsko Polje for its flood area, The river in this way rejects human presence and ensures the retaining of its elemental state.
A great variety of water insects, among which many of them choose a living space by micro-location, offer a fly fisherman the opportunity to fish the whole day long with completely different flies. With persistent presentation of the smallest dry flies, on the Unica it is also possible to attract a grayling in the middle of the summer heat. It will grab onto a small Red Tag or a grey fly.
The time of the evening rise is indeed a real fairytale on the Unica. Right at dusk, before the fly fisherman is drawn away by the dark and when the end of the grayling's dinner is announced by bats over the surface, it is time, for the fly fisherman to aslo try the silver Slovenian sedge, offered under the greenery right next to the bank. This is where grayling come afther dinner, and it is here they decide to also have desert before bedtime. This is likely to be performed by those trophy grayling wich exceed the limit of 50 centimeters.
Mornings from first light to sunrise are intended for Trout, because grayling are highly distrustful about the mists over the surface,
